Every year on March 8, we celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD)—a day dedicated to recognizing the achievements of women around the world and advocating for equality, empowerment, and opportunity. It’s a time to reflect on the progress made, the challenges still faced, and the incredible strength that women bring to their families, communities, and the world.

As a woman, IWD is personal. It’s a moment to honor the resilience, courage, and faith that have shaped not only my own journey but also the lives of so many women before me.

The Power of Resilience

Women have always been at the heart of change, whether in the workplace, in ministry, in families, or in communities. Many of us have had to fight to be seen, heard, and valued—not just in society, but sometimes even in our own personal lives.

I think of the women in the Bible who walked in faith and strength despite immense challenges—Esther, Ruth, Deborah, Mary. Each of them played a vital role in God’s plan, not because they sought power, but because they trusted in something greater than themselves.

Today, that same resilience lives in single mothers balancing work and home, women in ministry following God’s call, women breaking barriers in their fields, and those simply doing the best they can with what they have.

Women Lifting Each Other Up

One of the most beautiful aspects of International Women’s Day is the reminder that we are not alone. Women thrive when we support, encourage, and uplift one another.

Whether through friendship, mentorship, or simply a kind word, we have the power to create spaces where other women feel valued and seen. A simple “I see you. You’re doing an amazing job.” can mean the world to a woman who is struggling.

Faith, Purpose, and Moving Forward

As a woman of faith, I believe that our identity is rooted in something deeper than society’s expectations. We are not defined by our job titles, marital status, or accomplishments, but by the fact that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

International Women’s Day isn’t just about celebrating how far women have come—it’s about looking forward with faith and hope. It’s about using our gifts, talents, and experiences to make a difference in whatever way we can, whether that’s in our homes, churches, workplaces, or creative endeavors.

A Challenge for Today

This International Women’s Day, take a moment to:

🌸 Celebrate the women in your life

 – Send a message, write a note, or express gratitude for the women who have impacted you.

🌸 Reflect on your own journey

 – What challenges have you overcome? How has God worked through your story?

🌸 Encourage another woman

 – Lift someone up with a kind word, prayer, or support.

Women’s voices, stories, and contributions matter. Today, we celebrate them.

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜
