He’s Still Got Me: When God Speaks Through a Song

Right after I had the realization that I’m already living in the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, worry started creeping in. What about the future? It was as if my mind couldn’t just sit in the peace of God’s faithfulness—I had to start questioning what’s next, wondering if everything would keep working out.
And then, at that exact moment, for the third time today, A Thousand Times by We Are Messengers came on the radio. It felt like God was reaching through the music, trying to get a message to me: “He’s still that good, and He’s still got you.”
The lyrics hit me right in the heart: “He’s still that good, and He’s still got you.”
I sat there in the car, overwhelmed by the timing. God wasn’t just reminding me of what He’s done—He was reassuring me about what’s ahead. Just as He has carried me through every season, He will keep taking care of me.
I think we all have these moments where we recognize God’s faithfulness and feel so secure in His promises—only to have doubt creep in just as quickly. But God knows us. He knows our tendency to worry, and He is so gracious to remind us again and again:
“I still have you.”
Sometimes, His voice comes through Scripture. Sometimes, through a moment of deep reflection. And sometimes, it plays three times on the radio until we finally get the message.
Today, I got the message. He’s still that good, and He’s still got me.
